Sher and I see it everyday: squirrels hopping from tree to overhead lines and back again. This morning we saw a juvenile squirrel almost miss.
This fellow was going from the tree branch to the immediate left over to the wire. Usually a small stretch is all that’s required. He missed getting his back legs on the wire, and he ended up in the position you see. A little struggle and he was successfully on his way down the wire.
Roadtirement 
I saw a squirrel walking a wire when I was a kid, the critter fell off the wire and made a very loud SPLAT! when it hit the pavement. Still makes me laugh today! 😂

Lucky shot. I saw him headed in the way that leads to them jumping to the wire. He cooperated!

I love watching a group of young as they do their acrobatics in the trees around the house. I can’t help but be amazed that they don’t fall out from some of those leaps.
