We really enjoy the menagerie that shows up in our backyard. At one point yesterday we counted at least nine (9) squirrels romping around. They were having fun chasing each other up and down and around the tree, and it looked like total pandemonium. We are very fortunate to have a nice yard that gives us our own little slice of nature.
The squirrels in my backyard tend to come out at night to climb the trees, and litter the retaining wall with whatever it is they are eating. My cats sit inside by the window and watch all the antics. Cheap entertainment!

Do your kitties want to go out and play? Our neighbor has a cat who roams the neighborhood. He came wandering into our yard at the height of squirrel pandemonium. He stopped, looked at the mob, and turned around and walked away, I swear he was shaking his head…

haha! I can well imagine that cat shaking his head. Those squirrels get a little nutty out there–no pun intended. My cats are indoor only cats. Between the squirrels and the lizards, they’d be bringing me ‘presents’ every day, and I’d be freaking out! ๐จ

LOL…cats do love to bring you offerings, don’t they? How many kitties do you have?

I have 5. But I had been feeding the last two outside for over 4 years–long story. Finally, I said ‘enough’ and inside they came with my other three. It’s taken a few months, but the oldest kitty finally decided they two ‘outsiders’ are OK. Whew! She was one tough cookie.

A wonderful array of wildlife in your yard – the size of which is beginning to become apparent to this Englishman for whom a yard is a small area out back.

Thanks, Derrick. Our backyard is not that big, and we are blessed with a variety of wildlife.
