Today we were out for a drive, and upon returning to our neighborhood a large soaring bird came into view. It did not take long for us to recognize that our visitor was a bald eagle.
The bald eagle has been the national emblem of the United States since 1782, no thanks to Ben Franklin. (Remember the turkey thing?) It has been one of the most powerful spiritual symbols for Native Americans for as long as most can remember.

That’s cool! We actually see quite a few where we live just south of Richmond Virginia. One time kids and I were at a park and one swooped down into a tall tree, just over our heads.
