This squirrel got caught in our heavy rain storm and got drenched. He hopped on the tree about 3 feet up, grabbed the trunk and held on for dear life. Note his water logged tail.
We were under a severe storm warning that soon turned onto a full fledged tornado warning complete with the phones going off and our local sirens blaring.. We avoided any damage from the very high wind gusts, and fortunately there was no hail. Some parts of town suffered from wind damage.

That’s great you didn’t get any damage from the storm. Poor squirrel. Mother nature is unforgiving.

We were fortunate. A cousin of mine sustained serious damage to his house and barn due to winds and blown down trees. Assessment will today determine if it was a tornado or straight line winds.

I’ve seen them bolt out of the trees and dash under the neighbor’s truck when it starts raining. I guess the poor thing didn’t have anywhere else to get out of the rain…

We were out today and saw trees and branches down everywhere, but little building damage.

Even in Germany they had tornados last week, very unusual, 40 people died.

The squirrel does have a pretty and light colored tail. There have been a couple show up that are almost red colored.
