We saw several blue jays in our backyard this morning. This one certainly was enjoying the store bought suet cake. Hope you enjoy the beautiful coloration of this striking bird.

Pretty birds…but mean and sneaky. Laying eggs in other birds’s nest so they won’t be bothered with children. But thet are so oretty

They are mean when they defend their territory. I’ve seen that. Have never seen reference that they lay eggs in other birds nest like the cuckoos, nor that they do not raise a nest full. I’ve only seen references to their nest building.

When I was able to have a lot of feeders we had a lot of Jays and several times I saw young Jays in the Robins’ nests.
