What is the name of this stunning flowering plant? I need to plant a ground cover and these beauties are radiant!

Don’t know the exact genus/species, but it is Phlox. Phlox comes in many different colors and vegetation thickness and spreading rates. The two places we have this purple phlox it has in 2 years spread from a base of about 6 inches diameter to a ground covering of over 3 feet in diameter. It is good fast growing ground cover.

My merriment merely masks the melancholy of the mortality of my memorable Mate. And that’s…. okay. We did have 43 extraordinary years together.
