We woke up this Monday after Easter to a surprise scene out the windows. This late snow, rare in Indiana in April, was a wet and heavy type. A few of the daffodils could not take the weight of the accumulated ‘slush’ and suffered collapse.

It looks kind of pretty, but those poor daffodils!

Snow always has a bit of beauty and wonderment, but we’re over winter! Thanks, lois

Weird weather. We are in the large temp swing cycle. Freezing in the mornings in the 80s by afternoon. It was 32ºF this morning the forecast is for 83º F this afternoon.

Seems like Earth is throwing curveballs left and right these days. 32 to 83 is one helluva spread.

It is, but pretty standard in the high desert. Heat in the morning, air in the afternoon.

High desert must be a fascinating environment in which to live. You are blessed, Tim.

I saw that “surprise late snowfall” prediction just last night and felt for everyone in the north. Snow took out my daffodils back in February. Hope your little rabbits and squirrel can cope.

This has been a tough year for daffodils! Our squirrels and rabbits do fine, and take winter in stride. Thanks for sharing.

That snow should be here soon. We are supposed to get 3-6 inches. 😦

The chicks will get an education in weather! Thanks for stopping by. 😉

They know how to find their way into the coop, and I expect they will spend most of the day there. Chickens don’t like walking in snow.

They are smart that way. Thanks Ruth. 😉

We had snow yesterday here in Iowa. It was gone by this morning but oh my, I wasn’t prepared to see it on Easter. My daffodils survived!!

Glad your daffodils made it! We’ll see how ours do: our snow is about gone now…

My sister lives in Indiana–Marion–and sent me a similar picture this morning. Who wants to tell your state that Winter is over??

We’re finally getting much needed April showers in California after months of no rain. The weather patterns just keep getting weirder. xxoo, C

It was a shock, for sure. Fits the old Hoosier weather saying “If you don’t like the weather, just wait 15 minutes…”

you can also experience all four seasons in the same day.

Oh no.. I hate when the flowers get spoiled by the snow or even worse by the freezing temperatures. I lost my crocus last week, after freezing temp overnight..

Gaak, and we have another freeze warning for tonight. RIP your crocus.

We have a blizzard up here tonight and forecast to go on till morning! Not happy about it. Our daffs had not opened yet so I hope they will survive.

Oh my, hope the blizzard does not turn dangerous and is just a nuisance for you!

Fortunately it just left us with about 3 inches of snow and no ice.

Same thing in Northern Indiana! It snowed off and on all day today… Suppose to warm up this weekend though…

Strange day for sure, we had a mini sleet storm about an hour ago, and it’s supposed to get near freezing again tonight. *Sigh*
