Well if you need an elephant, and a good luck elephant at that, Roadtirement Vintage (our online Etsy Store) can help you out. We just listed not one, but two different elephants in our Etsy store today. The one in the picture is a very cool leather elephant. Notice that his trunk is raised, which is said by many to be a sign of good luck. These days anything to help with good luck is desirable. Here is a direct link to that listing. Take a look around, we’d appreciate it. Thanks for reading and checking out these blatant advertisements of ours. Oh, the other elephant is brass. See him here.
It will take a lot to get to the last straw!

The wheat was harvested from the very large field in the background. The straw was then baled and stacked as you see it. There were three of these large “walls” of straw. As you can see, these bales require a tractor with forks to move: you don’t manhandle these bales!
Well, I guess you don’t have to look quickly at all. But have a look at our Roadtirement green beans and lettuce.

Lettuce
With the COVID-19 shutdowns, stay at home orders and our desire to not catch this virus, Sher and I and our son decided that this year we’d try growing some different vegetables in our garden plot. We also increased the size of our garden. So far we have harvested lettuce three times for use on sandwiches. Yummy! And as you can see, the green beans have put on flowers and getting ready for the beans to grow.
We saw this guy on the side of our RV last year at the National Road Highway 40 Yard Sale. We won’t see him this year.

Due to the COVID-19 shutdown the sale has been postponed this year. We won’t be doing any sales or markets until we think is safe to be out. We don’t know when that will be. Click here to see our post about last year’s sale.

The paparazzi camera caught this cute pair of sparrows enjoying a romantic meal together at our backyard bird restaurant. No masks were required.
Pictures from our flower (and now) herb garden for your viewing pleasure.

For the we don’t know part, here is a shot of a flowering plant starting to bloom. Any help in identification will be greatly appreciated.
Please be safe, don’t let your guard down, that virus is still out there!

Sher and I were enjoying our new yard swing, which is sitting about 25 feet away from the tree where we have the bird feeder hanging. She spotted this young squirrel peeking out from behind the tree. This squirrel was not used to having two humans swinging in a weird contraption so close to where it likes to find ears of corn and sunflower seeds.

I wanted to get a photo of this female Cardinal, who I think may be a juvenile. She kept facing away from the camera. Finally she did turn so I could get an image of her face. Then here came one of those pesky Mourning doves (aka rain crows) who successfully photo-bombed the shot and spooked the Cardinal. Sigh….

Thanks, Mr. Squirrel, for the corn
No hint needed, but here is the culprit responsible. The squirrel that buried the corn kernel in this pot did not get back soon enough to retrieve it before germination. We thought, what the heck, let’s see how well corn grows with the petunias. Pot stability may be an issue the taller the stalk gets.
