Buds on a maple tree
It is now the time to clear off the leaves from the flower bed and herb garden. Wow, the bulbs are really pushing up! Trees are beginning to bud out. And yes, the grass is starting to perk up as well. Here comes Spring 2022.

Then after you peer up into the sky hopefully you’ll be able to spot them, usually way up there, almost out of sight. This large “V” formation did not take long to spot. During migration Sandhill cranes usually fly around 5000 feet. They have been known to reach 13,000 feet when migrating over mountains.

Squirrels, deer, rabbits, raccoons and possums all like grapes. This squirrel found one of the grapes that we put out in the yard. He grabbed a grape and enjoyed it in the tree.

Captured these three mischievous squirrels. They had been cutting donuts in the yard and chasing up, down and around the trees. Then they took a break to forage a bit. This image was the result.
The squirrels and birds are liking the warmer conditions to do some foraging.
Today we were out for a drive, and upon returning to our neighborhood a large soaring bird came into view. It did not take long for us to recognize that our visitor was a bald eagle.

The bald eagle has been the national emblem of the United States since 1782, no thanks to Ben Franklin. (Remember the turkey thing?) It has been one of the most powerful spiritual symbols for Native Americans for as long as most can remember.
