My how things have changed. Years ago, when I lived in South Bend and was teaching, there was no state of emergency, schools remained open, and we all went outside with our eclipse glasses and watched.

Our local schools will be open. We will only have about a 90 percent eclipse. It may end up being cloudy and not really viewable. I think some have switched to half day on that day so the schools is not responsible for kids staring at the sun and damaging their eyes on the bus ride home.

i’ve only seen one eclipse in Milan in 1999. It was the weirdest sensations. we were in the country side and all the birds suddenly went silent. the colour f the sky changed to a most intense blue. and then it was all over!
