Shop local for fruit of the vine

We like to support local wineries as opposed to buying in supermarkets. These two Indiana wineries are within an hour’s drive, and we enjoyed getting out for a while.

These two wines are limited edition holiday runs. The spiced red is good at room temperature or heated. The Christmas cherry is a delightful sweet wine. Notice the red nose on the buck on the label. Cute touch…

Drink responsibly. Don’t let your guard down and stay safe from the virus.Β

  1. The bottles look very nice, always shop local! I am not a wine guy at all but tried a random bottle a few days ago. Honestly, I felt kind of yucky after a glass. Made me feel weird. Beer, please. πŸΊπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

  2. We did the Southern Indiana wine road trip when we lived in Indiana. We especially enjoyed the Turtle Run winery. There is a wine producer/tasting in Owen, Indiana, near Bloomington, that is nice too.🍷 Although I prefer white πŸ₯‚.

    • Is the Owen one you refer to the Oliver winery? We’ve not done an “official” Wine Trails tour, but have visited several pre virus. May I ask, where did you live ? (We’re in Shelby County when we’re not on the road) Thanks for the visit and the comment, and have a safe holiday season.

      • No. I believe it was called Owen Winery (lol). Oliver Winery has beautiful grounds for a picnic in warmer weather. Their tasting room was nice. Cannot remember what we bought so long ago.

And Fishers IN. Here comes my rant… I actually was glad to leave that city. It was barely 15,000 when we arrived. Plenty of farmland and open space. Now just another jungle of buildings, businesses, and crowds. Yeah… Bah humbug to Fishers. Its fake and pretentious! And now the population is at 115,000+. Im not against humanity. Just poor land management for future generations to enjoy life. I tried starting community gardens… Im upset it never came to be.

Yes. Staying healthy. And actually enjoying the last of this forsaken year. The holidays are as merry as ever for me at least. I feel terrible for those struggling. πŸ’” Helping them as best I can. Our food banks here are double and triple last years capacity. πŸ₯Ί

      • With you on Fishers. What a joke as it’s trying to be like Carmel. Those 2 in a competition to see who is the most pretentious and snotty. We’re born and raised here. Gad I remember when there were no interstates. πŸ˜‰

  3. We like a bottle of good wine (and there’s plenty of those here in South Africa). Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are not allowed to purchase any alcohol or enjoy at a restaurant at the moment … guess, we’ll have to drink water until such time … πŸ˜‰
Like the look of that Christmas Cherry bottle πŸ‘πŸ»
