A new Disc Golf course has been constructed in a city park providing another means of recreation. This sport is well organized, and is served by a national organization, the Professional Disc Golf Association.

This is a “T” where you start each “hole”

Details of this, the 1st station

Here is the target basket, one for each “hole”
Disc Golf has roughly the same type of rules as regular golf. The PDGA is quite a large and vibrant organization. For the serious disc golfer, tournaments are available coast to coast. The weekend sportsperson can just have a ball (or disc) throwing these frisbee like discs across the park trying to land in one of those chain baskets. Try your luck sometime, you might find a new sport you like.
Interesting. Never heard of it.

I guess it has been around for quite a while. Never partaken, though.

Sunset Park? No palm trees, not the same park! βΊοΈπ΄ I played the tournaments years ago, disc golf is big fun, and a great way to party with your friends too! The sport is big here in the valley with several courses scattered about, and there is a course at the ski lodge in Kyle Canyon too! that course is around 8000 feet up there.

My son is an avid disc golf player. He loves it–enjoys playing in the tournaments, too. It is not easy, either!

I can imagine it is a tough sport. Thanks for sharing.

We have one of those here in town at a local park. I’ve never played because I stay away from anything to do with golf. It’s not my thing.

When I first heard about this I could just picture dogs stealing the frisbees in the middle of a game.

When I first saw these basket appearing in park areas, I had never heard of disc golf, so I thought they were feeding stations for deer … π π π

We’ve seen these before but have never tried disc golf. Looks like it would be fun. Happy 4th of July!
