Mallow Run Rhubarb wine

It was time to open the bottle of Rhubarb wine that we purchased at the Mallow Run Winery yesterday, catch up on that story here. We were interested in the Rhubarb wine after reading about it on the winery website.

It is listed as their number one seller, sweet, but with that unique Rhubarb zing. They recommend pairing the wine with a cheese plate or green salad.

It is unique and delicious! We are having it with Triscuit crackers and we love the sweet Rhubarb taste.

Mallow Run Winery, award winning wines

Century Farm Winery

Sher and I had a wonderful stop at a winery outside of Jackson, Tennessee. The Century Farm Winery, located on a beautiful estate provided a warm welcome to this well established and well known business.

The tasting procedure was different than most: you get three free tastings, charges for tasting only come into play if you have more than three. We certainly enjoyed the wide variety of wines that we tasted. All of the wines are made on site

We purchased a chilled bottle of their Nashberry fruit wine. This wine is made from a blend of their blueberry wine and blackberry wine. We both zeroed in this wine during our tasting. Absolutely delicious!

As a bonus, our host offered tastings of their two “wine slushies”. One was Sangria based while the second was a Peach Bellini. My was that Peach Bellini something. What a refreshing treat.

The next time you find yourself in West Tennessee head to Jackson and the Century Farm Winery. This 150 year old family business is worth a visit, and there is room to park you RV as well. This is the link to the winery website.

Hey, we went somewhere today

OK, for some of you, maybe it would not be a big deal. But for Sher and I our trip to the Buck Creek Winery was the first time in a year that we actually went out and went into a store. Yes a place where people go, talk, buy things and act kind of normal.

Our son drove us out and about today. Yesterday we noticed that our wine supply was running, well, low. So off to the Buck Creek Winery, about a half hour from our place.  We had our masks on and there was only one other customer in the winery  when we went in.  We felt comfortable, Joseph set us up to have a sampling of 6 different wines.

Our assortment purchase today

We ended up buying a case of assorted wines after a fun sampling experience. We belong to the Buck Creek Winery case club, which enables you to enjoy a 20% discount on case buys. Refer to the Buck Creek website for details.

Even though we have had our first dose of the Moderna vaccine, we were still somewhat leery of getting out. But we felt ok at the Winery today. Joseph  maintained social distance, was most polite and informative and he poured our samples. Oh, it was different wearing jeans with a belt instead of sweat pants.
