In 1953 the U.S.S Bearss, a Navy Destroyer, was on deployment in the Mediterranean. We have this historic postcard for sale on our ebay store .
A sailor named Sonny sent a postcard home from Naples, Italy to his brother(?) in Dayton, Ohio . The postcard was cancelled (postmarked) on the ship with a US Airmail stamp.

We have several postcards from this sailor ‘Sonny’ to his mom, dad and siblings. He has quite the story to tell via these cards…

Too bad you couldn’t track down his family. What a wonderful surprise that would be.

Too bad you could not locate Sonny’s family. Imagine the joy in finding these old cards after so many years. This is wonderful.
