Yesterday and last night Indiana suffered through some damaging severe thunderstorms. We were fortunate in that we suffered no damage, yet there was a very large tree down the block that blew over, fortunately missing any structure.
Our wheelbarrow was empty yesterday before the storms came through. This is what I found at 8 AM this morning.
Baseball size hail was reported (and photographed) near Indianapolis, and as of this morning there were still thousands of customers without power, and a few tornados reported as well. The good thing is that rain was needed. We officially recorded 3 inches, while some Southern Indiana counties recorded 7 + inches.
Roadtirement 
Here in California its been miserably hot. I think today is around 110. To hot to be outside. I don’t know what sounds better all that rain or all this heat lol.

Tornados were a bit far away, but the winds were crazy. Trees and limbs down all over our town. Another good thing is we dodged the hail.

Glad you missed the big winds and hail. We came through ok, but limbs and trees down in our neighborhood. Thankfully no hail here.

It’s strange how some parts of th state are hit while other parts remain undamaged. It all seems to depend on which side of I 70 you lie on during one of these weather events.

It does seem like more often than not I-70 is a boundary of weather systems. Does seem rather odd.

That’s what I was thinking this morn as I heard some areas are getting 15″ of rain from that storm.

I remember the flash floods when I lived in Tucson. Bone dry sandy wash one minute and 4 foot high wall of water the next.

The flash floods are really dangerous. A lot of people don’t understand the destructive powers of a gullywasher.

So true. In the arid climates they hit without warning. Sometimes you hear them coming, sometimes you just look up and see a wall of water coming down the arroyo.

That’s a good bit of rain, glad there was no damage, we have had no rain for a month, which is quite remarkable for the UK lol it’s 5am Sunday morning, dog woke me up wanting to go out, and won’t due to the finest drops of rain you can imagine

We’re grateful! The local TV had a photo of the baseball in one hand and the hailstone in the other. It was baseball sized ! ⚾️
