Striking a Pose
This is a novel way to make a living, or at least provide a clever side hustle. We saw this fellow at a town festival where we had set up as vendors. He showed up at noon on Saturday (of the weekend festival) and just walked around. He did not say a word, but every so often would freeze in a position and hold it for several minutes, thus becoming a big plastic toy soldier.
How fun! π

It was fun watching him. The photo was taken from our vendor booth.

Human statutes are interesting ways to make a extra money. I saw a lot of human statues, but not as soldiers, in Paris, Madrid, Rome and other European cities posing for tips. I don’t see them much around here, but I’ll bet they are common in large cities like NYC.

We did see one when we were in New Orleans.

Reminds me of tableaux vivants, only out among the audience!

By the end of the time he was performing this fellow had a pack of kids following him around. It was cute.
