Sometimes the simplest things work the best. Point in case our supper tonight was a simple hot tomato basil soup with crackers. It warms you up, which we both need as it is going to drop to 9 degrees overnight . Brrrrrrr!

Funny you mention tomato soup as it is one of those items we always have a decent supply stocked in.

That’s like us with chile. We always have a good stock of chile in it’s various forms: green, red, con carne, con queso, in enchiladas, in tamales, in salsa, etc.

NINE???
You need a bath in hot tomato soup!!
Funny… I just reminded myself of saying, on a hot day, I wanted to sit in a tub of soft serve ice cream. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy. I still think it sounds great!

Both the ice cream and soup baths are interesting ideas! LOL…maybe AC and blankets would not be as much fun…

Ah yes the warmth of simple food. Delicious in the cold. It is a bit colder here right now at -37C (with wind chill). Stay warm. Cheers.☕

Soup ist one of the most important things we take with us, when we are on our camping-tour.
Doesn’t matter if it’s warm or cold.

Tomato basil soup is one of life’s simple pleasures in and of itself. To have it on a cold day just makes it better.

I am curious about Passport America. Do you use them? When we were on the road it was sometimes difficult to find places to allow a stay for more than one night.

Yes, we have used Passport America for the last 5 years. There are as you observed there are limitations. Most that we have used allow at least 2 nights, but often not on Friday or Saturdays. Usually never on holiday weekends either. However, we use it for example when we’re going a long distance, e.g. Indiana to south Texas. Most 1/2 price PA rates are about $20, most $15 – $17. We have found some that are unlimited, but they are few and far between. Using PA for 2 or 3 nights will pay for your yearly membership. We’ll be glad to share more details if you’d like.

We did use them from both sides of the aisle. When we were workampers and when we were traveling. It is great to get a discount when traveling and not so great to tell campers that we don’t take them when working as hosts.

Wow. That would be rough. We’ve got a handful of RV parks which we use PA while traveling when on the same route..

Oh, that is so cold!
Tomato soup, or any soup is such a comforting food to have; particularly when it is that cold.
Enjoy!

Hot soup is always good. We’re in Scandinavia and we eat a lot of soup, mostly with veggies from our farm. Greetings from the other side of the pond from Liv

Nothing tastes better than your own grown veggies! We had a small garden this past summer while we were in isolation from the virus. Thanks for visiting our blog and commenting.

Esa sopa de tomate con galletas, me recordo a Jim Carrey en Todo Poderoso cuando separa la sopa en el plato. Se ve delicioso.

Your soup (this post) was made a few weeks ago. I’ve just made a pot of leek and potato soup (my comfort food) although it’s now 20 degrees – a jump from 14 yesterday – but I’d planned it so I made it. I can eat soup at any time though, and with home made bread it’s an easily prepared meal for a singledon like me..
