Going everywhere
We know that mint takes over anything in its way. This peppermint is sure proving what is said about it. It grows fast and spreads faster. We planted this mint with the idea that it would take over the strip of grass between the house and the sidewalk. It is off to a good start, as it started with a single plant last fall.
Roadtirement 
I always plant mint into some sort of container sunk most of the way into the ground, and then cut it back hard in the autumn. 😉

That is a good idea, Jack. We’re going to have to get a pruning back plan so it doesn’t look so unwieldy. We’ll probably try to transplant some further down the grass, too. Have a great day!

Mint and rosemary…..I love working in the yard and ‘accidentally’ brushing up against those plants. Heavenly fragrance. Yours is looking good!

They’re beautiful, I have a few mint plants in my yard, they seem to keep certain insects away when I plant them around vegetables.

We really like the scent that they give, especially when we bring cuttings into the house. We’ve heard of mint being a good insect repellent for veggies. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Blogging!

I planted mint once under a kitchen window to chase away ants. It worked for the ants, but it took over the entire planter, which was not what I wanted at all. And once it take’s over it is a bugger to get rid of. Good luck on keeping it in check.

We are just beginning our partnership with both peppermint and spearmint. Both versions are doing better than we thought. However we do have clippers, shovels and flame throwers. If you don’t hear from us within a month or so, you’ll know we’re stuck in the house and the mint has blocked cell phone reception and choked of the cable.
