They are so big and fascinating! My folks still have a place in Tarpon Springs near the Sponge Docks. I used to live in Dunedin, just a bit south. Was this pic taken at the Anclote River Park?
This picture was taken at Bay Shore RV park on Riverside Drive. They had a nice set of fishing piers, where I saw this pelican. The Sponge Docks were a short drive away. We really like the area.
We stayed at an RV Resort in Harlingen two winters ago, and I remember seeing gulls and an osprey from afar. We did see pelicans the day we went to South Padre Island.
Well there’s this legend out there about a pelican who thrust her beak into her breast to nourish her little ones with her own blood, and some people connect the story of Jesus and Easter. Anyways it’s what first came to mind, but anyways, I hope this holiday fills your heart and home with love and joy!
Close to home for me.

Great shot. We get seagulls and osprey up here, but I’ve never seen a pelican venture up the Rio Grande Valley.

I looooove pelicans and consider it good luck if they fly directly overhead.
